Biography

Dr. Josie C. Auger is a published author of “My People’s Blood: Indigenous Sexual Health Recovery.” It is based on STI/HIV prevention using popular theatre and action research. Recently, she served the Bigstone Cree Nation membership in a four-year leadership term. Bigstone Cree Nation is located in Treaty 8 Territory (Alberta). Previously, Dr. Auger conducted research, developed curriculum, fulfilled executive positions for a non-profit and First Nation organization, and taught several courses both within mainstream post-secondary institutions and a tribal college. Prior to academia she worked for CBC radio and Aboriginal media.
